Profits On the Web utilizes a four step process in the development of web sites.
Define the purpose:
A clearly defined purpose for a website, or any undertaking for that matter ensures that a beneficial results can be attained from the time and monetary investment in having a web site developed.
- Design (the front end):
The web site design, if properly conceived, is created with the defined purpose as its driving factor. For instance, visually stunning graphics support a purpose of exhibiting the talents of an artist, or displaying the beauty of location such as a resort hotel. While, on the other hand, those same graphics and images may distract a visitor from the information being presented on technical site. Think a travel brochure vs. a text book. They each have their defined purpose; One to impress. One to inform.
- Architecture (the back end):
The source code is the programming that makes the web site work. We have the experience resource and technical knowledge to write our own scripts and programs. We believe in making websites that meet the needs of our clients rather than redefining or, worse yet, ignoring our clients needs to fit the limitations of an under-developed or improperly developed web site.
NOTE: The "Code" topic will be discussed in greater detail on these pages in the future. Articles are currently being written and edited to inform businesses what to look for and what to watch out for in developing a new website.
- Maintenance:
Once the website is launched what happens? How is it updated? What added expenses are involved. What happens if a problem develops?
Profits On The Web includes twelve months of maintenance with any website we develop. Included is domain name registration, website hosting, fixes (if necessary), monthly updates, email accounts, and basic search engine optimization and submission.
