Steve West started building web sites as a hobby in 1997 writing the html code in Microsoft Notepad. At that time he was a sales rep for an independent yellow page publisher in the Los Angeles, CA area. As general sales manager for the company he created the internet division. The opportunity came to join one of the world's largest online directories as national sales trainer.

As the Internet matured most web site development companies fell into two basic catagories; those building custom web sites focused on design, and those offering basic "one size fits all" templated products.

In 2001 Steve began doing business as Profits On The Web serving local businesses in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.

Today, Profits On The Web has established a network of independent professionals and companies in the following fields: web site design, programming, graphics design, marketing, sales, advertising, computer services, web site hosting, domain name registration, and video production.
